Aaaaaah. Clutter!! We’re re-painting three rooms, so we have this here when it should be there. We have that there and it should be over here and on and on. Mostly, the stuff belongs to the kids, so I can’t do much with it. Today, the feel-good solution was to purge 20 of my own possessions. Since my last 100 Thing Challenge update, I added 3 things, one of which is a table I forgot to count in the first place.

Here’s what’s leaving this week:
- 2 pairs of cargo shorts, a green pair and a tan pair
- 6 short-sleeved shirts (5 t-shirts and 1 purple polo)
- 1 tan hooded sweatshirt (boy, I had a lot of these)
- 1 long-sleeved workout shirt (a freebie for finishing the St. Louis half-marathon)
- 1 pair of leather Fossil-brand flip-flops
- An old table that served as my nightstand.
- 1 magazine, EGM, Aug 2008
- 1 lanyard
- 1 pair of computer speakers
- 1 pair of Apple ear buds
- 1 Samsung MP3 player (non-working)
- 3 notebook/journals
This week I added a new mobile phone and a pair of brown Crocs to replace the flip-flops. Also, the table that I’m scrapping is an item that I overlooked when I counted everything back in May, so I added it, then subtracted it.
That leaves me at 341 things.
Oh, and I can’t forget socks and underwear. I’m counting each as a collection, but it’s worth mentioning that I subtracted two pairs of socks and 1 pair of boxers. Exciting, eh?

This is really impressive. If only everyone were so willing to get rid of stuff they don’t use!

You’re doing really good. I love the “1 Lanyard” – ever since I’ve been doing conferences, those things are like house mold, appearing in strange places and seeming to grow.
